Poett Nook is our favorite meeting place in Barkley Sound. From Poett Nook you can see the open ocean and it’s just a short jaunt to Bamfield. No matter what the weather, you are assured a safe charter in protected waters just a short distance from the open ocean. It’s a good prawning area and boasts some of the best crabbing Barkley Sound has to offer.
Every year the salmon derby’s winning fish come from the shoals around Poett Nook. Both a marina and campground, Poett Nook offers hot showers, a bunk house, fish freezing facilities, store and a communal campfire where you can share stories in the evening.
