Gotta love winter fishing in BC! We took a trip down the Alberni Inlet last week and were rewarded with an amazing crab catch and our limit of winter chinook. February on the West Coast of Vancouver Island is beautiful, especially along the Alberni Inlet and the salmon fishing is always fantastic. We came home with our coolers and hearts full! Such a serene time of year to be out on the water. One of our favourite times to fish. While the rest of the ocean is being blown around in the winter months, the Alberni Inlet remains calm all the way to Barkley Sound. It’s one of Vancouver Island’s best kept secrets. We were super cozy on the Oracle with some of the group choosing to stay in the warm cabin to prepare the feast while the rest of us were out on deck enjoying the tranquility of the ocean and crisp clean air.
