Coho, the acrobats of the ocean, are a milder flavoured salmon than the Chinook and some folks prefer the flavour. They travel higher up in the water column and often near the surface allowing for surface action like fly fishing and bucktailing. They are seldom caught below 50 feet and usually eager to bite your line. We find them often around the surf lines of the Broken Group, depending on the season. They will travel near the shoreline in schools that will offer you double, triple or even quadruple hitter action. With the right conditions you need to hang on and be ready for more.
Coho are also known as silvers.
