Tyler Rock is a submarine aquatic haven, situated in the middle of 3 tidal currents at the gateway to Barkley Sound at the bottom of the Alberni Inlet. It’s an underwater volcanic island rising sharply from 480 to 35 feet. Many a cannonball has been lost to the distracted fisherman on this unforgiving rock. It is a fish magnet and is a great example of perfect conditions for the complete food chain. The incomparable yellow eye “snapper” live here in numbers and make a favorite jigging spot while touring the area.
