The dogfish shark is found everywhere in Barkley Sound. We encounter them mostly when fishing halibut up to 300 feet but they are known to be found at 1000 feet as well. There are over a hundred different varieties of dogfish. The average one we encounter is shy of 4 feet and about 30 lbs.
